How it Works

Arnie McNair operates a little differently than most brands.

We make product in small batches, using natural materials, with a focus on quality over volume. Nothing is mass produced and sitting on shelves.

1. Join the Email List

If you want access, get on the email list.

All you have to do is enter your email on the site. That’s it — no confirmation, no extra steps.

When the site opens, email subscribers get the password first. That’s how you get in.

2. Everything Is Made to Order

We don’t carry large amounts of finished inventory.

Everything — shirts, shorts, belts, cashmere — is made to order.

The difference between releases comes down to material availability and production timelines.

3. Why the Site Is Password Protected

The site is often password protected, including during releases.

This is because we control order volume based on what we can responsibly produce.

For items like polos and shorts:

  • We have to source fabric and materials in advance
  • Production capacity is limited by what we can make well
  • So we limit how many orders we take at a time

In those cases:

  • The site is password protected
  • Email list gets priority access
  • Orders are capped based on what we can produce

Example:
For a spring release, we may only take a set number of shirt and short orders based on the fabric we’ve sourced and the production capacity we have.

4. Why Some Releases Are More Open

For other products — like cashmere or alligator belts — we’re able to take more orders at once.

That’s because:

  • Materials can be scaled more easily
  • Production is structured differently
  • But they still require lead time

So in those cases:

  • The site may open more broadly
  • Orders are still made to order
  • Production happens after orders are placed

Example:
We may open the site ahead of a release for cashmere or belts because we can take more orders, but they need to be produced in advance due to longer timelines.

5. Read the Product Page

Every product page will clearly tell you:

  • expected shipping window
  • sizing guidance
  • fabric details
  • any relevant production notes

If it says ships in May, that’s the timeline.

6. Production Comes First, Then Shipping

Once you place an order, we get to work making it.

We’re not a warehouse operation — we’re producing real garments in real time. That means timelines can be longer than big retail, but the tradeoff is quality and value.

7. We Only Take What We Can Deliver

We don’t oversell.

We take orders based on what we can confidently produce and deliver at a high level.

That’s why access is sometimes limited and why being early matters.

8. Questions? Reach Out

We’re a small operation and we appreciate every order.

If you have questions, reach out anytime.

We’re here to help.

God Bless,
Arnie McNair
